The Centre for Free Elections and Democracy – CeSID will monitor the upcoming presidential elections with the aid of monitors assigned to almost each of about 8,600 polling stations.

During the elections day, in accordance with the already established practice, in the series of Press Conferences held at the Media Centre in Belgrade, CeSID will be presenting to the journalists and the public its estimations of voters turnout, while in the first hours following the closing of polling stations, it will also announce the information on election results and irregularities observed in the electoral process.

Estimations of voters turnout and elections results will be based upon processing of information acquired from the sample comprising 531 polling stations.

In the period preceding the presidential elections, CeSID has actively monitored the electoral preparations, the media behaviour during the pre-elections campaign and, through an accredited monitor, all the activities of the Republican Electoral Commission.

Prior to the presidential elections, on Wednesday November 12, CeSID will announce results of monitoring of the most influential media in Serbia and their behaviour during the pre-elections campaign.

CeSID reiterates that basic complaints it these presidential elections are still related to the inconsistent and deficient electoral legislation and non-existence of unique, central voters register.

The forthcoming presidential elections in Serbia will be the 18th in a series of elections monitored by CeSID over a six-year period of its existence.
